The Sartiglia in honour of Charles Emmanuel of Savoy

Today we will talk about two special editions of Sartiglia in honour of Charles Emmanuel of Savoy: in 1722 when he married Anne Christine of Sulzbach, and in 1724 when he married Polyxena of Hesse.

The marriage between Charles Emmanuel and Anne Christine of Sulzbach was celebrated by proxy, as was usual, in the princess's home town on the 15th of February 1722, then in the capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia, Turin, and finally in the city of Oristano.
